The Learning Experience

The main aim of this blended training programme is to provide you with the skills to identify, analyse and develop solutions for Business Excellence and Improvement projects.

This Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Programme is certified by the University of Limerick (3 ECTS Credits - NFQ Level: 8) and is delivered as a blended learning programme, which will consist of online learning modules and resources, classroom sessions and project mentoring.

As you progress through this programme, you will develop the ability to:

  • Undertake projects using a systematic approach
  • Identify, analyse and develop solutions and improvements
  • Apply a Lean process improvement methodology (DMAIC) and useful Lean Six Sigma tools to an improvement project
  • Create an A3 report to document and communicate an improvement project
  • Become an accredited Yellow Belt practitioner

Assessment

There are four key elements to assessment and certification

  1. Your completed A3 Report based on a selected workplace Lean project
  2. A 500-word reflection summary of your A3 project and what you have learned
  3. A signed copy of a 'Statement of Originality' document to verify your project and assignment is a product of your own work
  4. A 10 minute Management Presentation of your A3 Report

An introduction to Lean Thinking, the Concepts of Waste & Value and beginning to scope your project and develop your project charter

A3 Report

Your final A3 report will document the DMAIC process you followed to deliver your chosen workplace project. It will visually showcase the tools and techniques that you applied during your project.
